Heroine

The HERO•INE collection includes seven vases, each with with a unique cut, in several colours and five sizes to respond to the varied needs of floral arrangements. Each vase pays tribute in name and character to strong and courageous women – heroines who have left their distinctive mark on art, culture or society and celebrates their unique inner strengths. They are united by courage, desire and a passion for life

As one of the first collections by designer Kateřina Handlová in her role as art director of Rückl, the HERO.INE collection is a confident demonstration of the possibilities of working with traditional cut crystal in a modern way, but with reference to its historical heritage. The collection reflects her interest in exploring her own visual language within the Rückl brand, where she builds on previous collections, as well as in cut glass technique and technology, which has remained virtually unchanged over the last few centuries. She focuses on haptics, the contrasts between fine detail and brutal oversized cut, matte and polished surfaces and the fragility and strength of glass.

The design of vases from the HERO.INE collection is based on contrasts between light and dark, masculinity and femininity, solidity and delicacy of hand-cut. The dominant element of the collection of hand-blown vases is the distinctive deep cut, which takes master cutters several hours to process.

The HERO.INE collection consists of seven vases with a unique cut in five sizes and several colours. The shape of the vases corresponds to the different needs of floral arrangements. Each of the seven vases refers in its character and name to world and Czech heroines, strong women who inspire Kateřina in her work and life, such as EMA Destinová, LATA Brandisová, Vivienne Westwood or COCO Chanel.

On the occasion of the presentation of the new HERO-INE collection by Kateřina Handlová, we decided to support the Czech non-profit organization Loono. The founder is Kateřina Šédová, who became the face of the HERO-INE collection. We were drawn to her strong story, untamed courage and passion for what she does. She perfectly fits the definition of contemporary heroines. For every COCO Heroine amber vase sold, we donate 10% of the sale price, excluding VAT, to support the non-profit organization Loono. The non-profit organization Loono is made up of a team of young doctors, medics and other professionals who spread awareness about cancer, cardiovascular and mental illness prevention.
